1. Had dinner with some peeps from work tonight.

Organised in honour of V, who has been living and working in London for a year or so. I worked with her only briefly before she left, but she made quite the impression. It also helps that she’s probably the single most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. Also, her sister, O, was a fucking godsend at work earlier this year, and so when plans were being made, I put my name down.

In the meantime, enough reasons to back out emerged. Regular Monday dinner with the boy and friend, Terry Malick movies showing at the Astor, and just general fear of slightly awkward social situations.

Still, I dragged myself along, and it was great. The conversation around the table was some of the most stellar I’ve heard. Then, to top it off, V and O were on the same train as me home, so I also got to enjoy some quieter convo with the two of them. A great night.

  2. What I learned today: time to change some info on certain profiles.

Turns out I’m def a top.

  3. My top 100 films.

  5. Surfing tumblr, drinking some Rekorderlig Winter Cider, listening to ‘House’ by Patrick Wolf on repeat (Calpernia!), thinking about doing some producer type stuff, fighting the urge to either watch another ep of Who (I’m up to ‘Blink’) or start reading ‘Pandora’s Star’ which I borrowed from a friend today.

London Riots : Don’t expect the BBC to replay this clip! | Dangerous Minds

    By Richard Metzger
    August 9, 2011

Darcus Howe, well-respected West Indian-born intellectual, New Statesman columnist, TV host and political activist, is interviewed on the BBC about last night’s rioting and he eloquently states what a lot of people in the country must be thinking right about now.

“I don’t call it rioting. I call it an insurrection of the masses of the people. It is happening in Syria, it is happening in Clapham, it has happening in Liverpool, it is happening in Port of Spain, Trinidad.”

Instead of listening, the BBC newsreader keeps interrupting him with nonsense until, in the end, he just goes off on her in the most hilarious way. This clip needs to be passed around, please tweet and share.

  11. I don’t know about you…

But when I finish shooting the most stressful shoot of my life, I like to try and unwind by listening to Super Bass by Nicki Minaj on repeat for hours while making backups of the footage and chatting on Facebook to an incredibly sexy boy who has been helping to keep me sane through this whole experience (and now I’ll maybe have some more time to spend with him too…).

  12. Tonight I am seeing what Bela Tarr has called his final film.

  15. Someone else posted this, and I shoulda liked it or reblogged it or something, because now I have to post it without due credit to the person who introduced me to this amazing piece of awesomesauce. I’ve seriously been listening to it on repeat for the last hour, at least, and it’s still not old.
